The classic Kyosho Heavy Metal Monster Tank Car Crusher was introduced by Kyosho in 1991 and was patterned after the Monster Tank car crushers that were popular in the USA during the late 1980’s/early 1990’s. It was the second treaded tank vehicle (the first being the Kyosho Blizzard DX) that Kyosho introduced and is similar to the DX but has a few chassis changes, the biggest being the wheels. Unlike the Blizzard that uses rubber tired wheels, the Heavy Metal uses standard plastic chromed wheels. Like the DX, it features 2 available gear ratios and twin 380 sized motors with an all metal gearbox with nylon gears. This enables the Heavy Metal to climb just about anything at up to a 45 degree angle.
The coolest part about the Heavy Metal is the over sized Ford Econoline Van body which can be painted in any color and really gives the tank a unique look not seen in other RC models of that era.
