Pro Stock Bike

4:15 p.m. – Weather conditions were nice for watching and racing: air temperature was 75 degrees, relative humidity 54 percent, barometer 29.92 inches, adjusted altitude 1,689 feet, track temperature 98 degrees.

Smith was 7 – 5 against Stoffer in prior events and Stoffer is 2 – 1 against Smith in prior final rounds. Smith was 11 thousandths of a second quicker coming off the starting line. Stoffer made up most of the difference but fell just a bit short and lost a close race. Matt Smith’s incremental margins: 60ft(0.025), 330 ft(0.033), 660ft(0.026), 1,000ft(0.014). MOV: 0.0002 seconds (approximately 1 inches).

Funny Car

Here are the results of the final, round 4 eliminations in Funny Car at the NHRA Supernationals at Englishtown:

Criz Pedregon’s crew changed engines between rounds (aways fun to watch). Mike Neff had a 0.104 start, Pedregon had a -0.104 reaction time. The ride light start by Pedregon gave Neff the win.

Top Fuel

Here are the results of final, round 4 eliminations in Top Fuel at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 42nd annual NHRA SuperNationals:

Dell Worsham is 3 – 0 against Massey in prior events and this is the first time they have faced each other in a final round. Worsham has won here twice in the Funny Car class in 1991 and 2005 and was runner-up here last year in the Funny Car. Massey with the starting line advantage and the power to hold on for the hole shot win…Spencer Massey’s MOV: 0.0091 seconds (approximately 4 feet). Massey won his fourth Wally(the final round trophy, named after Wally Parks, the founder of the NHRA) and for the first time in his short career he wins back to back events.
