Great news for Team Associated RC 10 vintage gold pan chassis lovers! Looks like they are bringing back and re-releasing the original RC 10 gold chassis electric buggy in a limited edition. We know that the RC10 Classic as it will be called will have updated parts and allow for LIPO batteries. You can expect the RC10 team (and we suspect Area 51, their development team) to do a few other updates as well to make the buggy race worthy with modern brushless motors. How great will this be? We think it will make the perfect spec class racing buggy. Not only will it run well but lets face it, the original buggy was one the best looking buggies ever made. It would be so cool to see these buzzing your local off road track and bringing back memories to those of us who remember it winning the 1985 world championship at the skilled hands of Jammin’ Jay Halsey. And since it is Team Associated you can be sure there will be great parts availability as well. The crew thinks this will be an instant hit and even though they have announced it will be a limited run, we are betting they will continue production for awhile. We know we will be purchasing one, that much is certain.
Tower Hobbies is already taking pre-orders for the RC10 Classic pricing it at 249 dollars….We think that is a great price!
I think the price is a little high. I bought mine from Tower Hobbies long time ago for 230
well, everything is a little high these days, LOL..
No need to…the gearbox isn’t a high stress area…and heat buildup isn’t an issue with the broad cut nylon and metal gears…If it were, the gears would be melting….
Why don’t you make the tranny casing out of metal like the Tamiya Scorcher? I know weight is an issue but strength and heat is too.
